Mr. Varit Mongkonsri, Mr. Sakchai Suriyajantratong, and Mr. Suchat Satitmannaitam.The association was first named "Thai Environmental Engineers Association" which later was changed to EEAT in 1992.The association's original purposes were to serve as a technological center for members and to protect the rights of the environmental engineering profession.
For more than 20 years, EEAT has been an educational and technical center which provided its members and the public with the latest information and technologies on environmental management and control.

วัตถุประสงค์

2. To be a center for service and promotion of environmental pollution control technologies.
3. To set or assure standards, setup Thai technical terms, and compile laws dealing with the environmental engineering profession.
4. To be the representative of Thai environmental engineers in their cooperation with other institutes both locally and abroad.
5. To transfer and promote the practical use of the latest technologies on the environmental pollution management and control.
6. To protect the rights of the environmental engineering professio.

EEAT, in conjunction with other organizations, has also organized the annual national seminar on "Conservation of Thailand's Natural Resources and Environment or Thai Environment Forum" which continually receives overwhelming response from the public.
EEAT also works closely with several private and government agencies to preserve the nation's environment and has been participated in many working committees for example:
Founders Committee of the Industrial Water Technology Institute, Department of Industrial Works. Committee of the National Accreditation Council (NAC) for ISO 14000 Certification. Sub-Committee of the Thai Green Label Project, Thai Environment Institute. Sub-Committee for the Environmental Management System Certification, Thai Industrial Standards Institute. Committee for the preparation of the Environmental Management Guidelines for Metal Finishing Industry, Department of Industrial Works. Technical committee for the Draft Standard for Sustainable Forest Management System, Thai Industrial Standards Institute.

Requested revision of building laws in the sewage treatment and disposal section according to engineering practice. Proposed the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to redefine the term "Septic Tank" to suit the sanitary engineering practice. Requested an import duty exemption for the pollution control equipment and a reduction in electricity charges for pollution control operations. Requested the BMA to issue the design codes for wastewater treatment plants to prevent any disputes between designing engineers and authorized officers. Served as an autonomous organization for equipment testing and certifying.
